Ravatherm XPS is a high-performance rigid foam insulation which offers low thermal conductivity and effectively minimises heat loss. It prevents heat from pipes of the underfloor heating system escaping and instead forces the heat upwards into the floor surface.

Ravatherm XPS can be used in conjunction with electric matting underfloor heating systems, where the electric matting is installed above the XPS floor insulation. For this application, the insulation is hot wire cut into thin sheets to sit underneath the electric matting of the heating system.
Hot wire cutting is a specialised process using precision cutting to create custom thicknesses from 6mm to 10mm of Ravatherm XPS for bespoke orders.
CNC Machined Ravatherm XPS in water-based underfloor heating systems
Our 3 and 5-axis CNC machines can be used to machine Ravatherm XPS for use in a water-based underfloor heating system with pipe layouts cut into the design. The grooves in the insulation board allow the water pipes to sit flush within the insulation, providing an effective method of insulation and preventing heat loss through the floor. Our precision cutting processes enable us to achieve tolerances as low as +/- 0.5mm.
