We are pleased to announce the launch of our new extended range of lightweight sandwich panels.
Building on the success of our sandwich panels with a ThermHex core, which have proved to be increasingly popular with manufacturers and contractors looking to reduce the weight of their products; we have introduced a range of lightweight structural panels.
Our ThermHex core is a revolutionary polypropylene honeycomb that is strong and lightweight. It provides optimal performance in composite sandwich structures. The optimised cell size and the specific structure of ThermHex honeycomb cores offer an exceptional surface quality in sandwich components, even with very thin skin material layers.
Our ThermHex based panels have incredible strength, yet are up to 2½ times lighter when comparing with plywood core panels faced with 2mm GRP. ThermHex is resistant to chemicals and moisture and therefore offers durability and longevity. The material is 100% recyclable to ensure ethical and sustainable sourcing of materials.
Our Styrofoam XPS core is a closed-cell high performance lightweight product that resists absorption of liquids and adhesives, which helps maintain panel integrity and has excellent insulating properties in low temperature and high humidity and moisture conditions.
We are also able to manufacture panels with alternative cores such as Aluminium honeycomb and also ultra lightweight Banova Plywood which is strong, and offers minimal weight with high stability, making it an ideal lightweight alternative to solid MDF.
Together, our extended range of lightweight panels are suitable for use on a variety of applications including van conversions and linings, flooring, automotive and truck bodies, furniture, structural decks and architectural developments.
The panels are available in a variety of facing options including:
- Powder coated aluminium 0.5mm – 4.0mm
- Anodised aluminium 0.5mm – 3.0mm
- GRP (Glass reinforced plastic) including anti-slip options.
- Painted / Coated Steel
- High Pressure laminate e.g. Formica / Trespa
- MDF
- Birch / WBP / Marine Plywood
- Anti-Slip Plywood
Our lightweight panels can also be cut, CNC machined and drilled to bespoke shapes and sizes utilising our extensive 3 and 5 Axis CNC capabilities. We also offer a CAD design service, so customers can send their drawings to our team and we can develop a panel construction to suit your needs.
