We take it for granted in our everyday lives, but CNC routing, shaping and cutting of panels is everywhere around us, playing a role in creating products that are decorative, functional and innovative. These panels may be used for building facades, for playground equipment, for restaurant furniture, right through to lockers and cubicles used in leisure facilities across the country.
What has enabled these endless possibilities with decorative effects and routing is our investment in advanced CNC and fabrication equipment. Here at Panel Systems we have one of the most advanced facilities for fabricating panels. This is due to our investment in the latest 5 axis CNC equipment, which enables us to take customers’ designs for panels and reproduce them on our sophisticated equipment, exactly as they designed them. This is really pushing the boundaries in design – extending our market further into bespoke work for a wide range of market sectors.
Recently this customised cutting, routing and fabrication service was utilised for a recent Trespa® Meteon®, cladding contract where panel edges were routed as part of the TS300 fixing system. The machined panel edges are designed to mask the aluminium profiles used to install the panels. This bespoke concealed system helps to enhance the aesthetics of the building, by creating a seamless appearance to the Trespa face.
There is increasing demand for bespoke edge details for façade panels, but also for ever closer tolerances. We have recently invested in a new beam saw, which ensures that panels can be cut to the highest level of accuracy. This has helped to speed up our production of panels, enhance cutting quality and also extend the range of materials that we can work with.
Our experience involves over 40 years or working with materials such as Solid Grade Laminate, Plastics, Extruded Polystyrene, Timber Sheet Materials and External Cladding Boards.
