Panel Systems, a leading manufacturer of architectural, decorative and composite panels, has announced a series of major investments in its factory in Sheffield to enhance its fabrication services.
Following on from previous investments totalling £260,000, which included a CNC Turret punch and a new spray booth system, Panel Systems has recently invested a further £120,000.
This includes £100k in a new beam saw and £20k into new in-house testing facilities. The beam saw will be used for cutting to exacting tolerances a wide variety of sheet materials such as timber, laminates and metals, as part of the company’s further enhancing its service to customers.
Panel Systems’ new test laboratory will include its own Tensometer that measures the tensile properties of materials. This will be an added value service that Panel Systems can provide to clients who are looking for specific properties for their materials, either for the construction or OEM (original equipment manufacturer) markets.
Chris Ibbotson, Managing Director at Panel Systems, said: “This is an exciting time for our business as we continue to invest in extending our fabrication capabilities. We now have one of the most advanced and best equipped panel manufacturing facilities in the UK. It means we can provide the most comprehensive service to customers backed up by over 40 years’ experience in panel manufacture and fabrication.”
In addition to purchasing new equipment, further investment has been made in upgrading Panel Systems’ head office building in Sheffield, with attractive Rockpanel cladding to its façade. The panels were produced by Panel Systems in a grey colour, which was chosen as it complemented the aesthetics of other buildings in the area and gave the facade a contemporary new look.
Chris Ibbotson continues: “Cladding our own offices in Rockpanel demonstrates the confidence we have in the quality, longevity and aesthetics of our architectural range. What better place to showcase it our capabilities than on the exterior of our head office building!”
Panel Systems provides the construction industry with architectural composite panels which are used by window and curtain walling contractors to create stunning facades for new and refurbished buildings.
